We have felt the need to store the e-mail messages extracted in the hard disk or a CD and then be able view and search them easily.

One big PST or DBX file has several disadvantages:

• They're fragile, especially as they get big. They get corrupted too easily.
• It's hard to back them up or compact them. They just get bigger and bigger.
• They can corrupt easily if you place them on a network drive.
• People have a hard time taking the messages with them.
• You cannot clean PST files after virus infections.

No, you don't need to have Outlook installed to view the messages, as we decode the MSG files natively.

Can OutlookExtract decode DBX files natively?

Yes, you don't need to have Outlook Express installed to extract or later view the messages.
